With the approaching holidays, many people look for ways to give back to their community; others focus on "year-end tax-planning." Few realize that AZ state tax credits accomplish both objectives. In 1997, the Arizona legislature passed the individual tax credit law to encourage donations to qualified charities. There are three available tax credits:
1) Charitable organizations that help the working poor or low-income seniors.
2) School tuition organizations (STO) that provide tuition assistance.
3) Public and charter schools that require a student paid fee for extra-curricular activities.
Any donation to Christian Care Nursing Center qualifies as a charitable organization donation.
Joint filers may claim up to a $400 tax credit (individuals - $200.) Donations to public and charter schools have the same limits, while the maximum STO donation is $1,000. If you are filing a joint return and donate the maximum to each tax credit, your AZ income taxes can be reduced by $1,800. Taxpayers may claim one, two or all three tax credits in any given year. Remember, the Nursing Center tax credit is in addition to any tax credits you may be using for public, private or charter schools. Click here to make a secured online donation.
The 60-bed Nursing Center opened in 1981 to provide affordable nursing care for seniors.
Approximately 70% of the residents are under contract with Arizona Care Cost Containment System ("Medicaid"). The state's reimbursement rates do not cover the cost of care and your year-end donation enables Christian Care to continue providing excellent care and a quality environment for all our residents. Psalm 71:9 is inscribed the cornerstone and serves as motivation for our employees:
"Do not cast me away when I am old; do not forsake me when my strength is gone."
Thank you for considering a year-end gift to Christian Care...
